I am the Founder and Clinical Supervisor at On the Couch Counseling. I attended Greenwood High School and furthered my education at Texas Tech University and UT Permian Basin. I have over 25 years of experience as an educator and a high school counselor in the Permian Basin. I work closely with parents, partners, and individuals from all backgrounds to uncover what is creating an obstacle for growth and happiness in their lives and then work to help navigate those challenges to make positive, lasting changes. In my years working with children, I have focused on the care of the most challenged children, serving as a counselor for students with a variety of mental health and cognitive challenges. I have taken a special interest in helping families dealing with problems stemming from self harm, drugs or alcohol use, suicidal ideation, depression, bullying, sexual orientation or gender struggles to low grades or school performance.
I am a certified school counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor- Supervisor. In 2017, I founded a local non profit with the mission of empowering and advocating for the diverse community of the Permian Basin through education and outreach to reduce social, medical, and legal barriers to mental healthcare.
Outside of the office, Iām an active participant and patron in various community groups. I especially value the arts (currently learning pottery making), education, music, animal rights, and choir. I enjoy cooking, baking, dancing, hiking, exercise (Zumba!), cycling, being in nature and spending time with my family and fur babies.
